Hello readers!

I am the new Outreach Coordinator at the Mayborn Science Theater, and I thought I’d introduce myself!

My name is Emma Merlo and you’ll be hearing from me on this blog about all kinds of cool sciencey things. My main background is theater and music and I am very excited to bring these topics into science education. I studied theater and music for four years at Austin College in Sherman, TX before I toured for two years with the Missoula Children’s Theater all over the country.

I have experience teaching kids age 2-18 in a variety of subjects. My love of science began at an early age through reading science fiction books, and I have had fantastic teachers guide me throughout the years.

We are already starting in on some fantastic outreach projects, and I am so excited to share them with you! Look forward to some great developments at the Mayborn Science Theater.
